Guild President Prudence Mahirwe added, "Our hearts go out to the affected families. We thank our students for their generosity and commitment to helping those in need."
"Just as in any normal civilized society, the burden that comes with certain tragedies is shouldered by a whole community. We surely can't do so much, especially the lives that were lost which no one can replace, but we are coming out as KIU in solidarity with the rest of the people who have come here to share the little that we could afford," Muhirwe added.
KIU Main Campus Guild president Yvonne Keinembazi expressed gratitude to the University management, the Dean of student Affairs and the Director of the Estates for Universities in East Africa their support.
